For the summer Nick and I are both working full time. I definitely need a break from school because I have been going for 20 months straight! I am currently working at Linx Communications. I work as a qualifier. That means that the sales reps call me with the customer’s credit card info and I run their card to see if they are qualified to get dish or direct TV and then I sign them up. It is nice to just go to work for 8 hours and come home and not have homework! In the spare time I will soon have after I get my new license and purchase the things we need for our home I am going to start working on making a cook book of all my favorite recipes. Please send me any of your delicious recipes!

Nick is working for AMP security in customer service and tech support. He also currently works for the census as well. It is great to both have jobs but he works in the morning and I work in the afternoon until 9 or 10 at night so we don’t get to see each other a lot. In Nick's spare time he loves to look up anything about science. He took my pathophysiology book from last semester and has started reading it. He begged me to not sell it back so he can read it. haha. He also likes to read the books from the series call The Wheel of Time. I think it has 12 books and he is on the 5th or 6th. I can't keep track any more. Nick also is very good at the guitar and has written a lot of his own music so he plays that too!

Together we enjoy taking walks but unfortunately the weather hasn't been very warm lately and it is the middle of May! We also like to just sit back after a long day of work and talk or watch a show. Some shows we enjoy are community, the marriage ref, american idol, the office, and soon so you think you can dance. We used to do P90X together but now that our work schedules are opposite we have to do it separately. I did a workout Monday and I'm still sore from it. Never stop working out or get out of shape because it kills to get back in. We also enjoy cooking and eating together. In the apartment we're in we have a barbecue so Nick barbecued us some tasty chicken while I cooked the potatoes and corn. It is so much fun to be married!

So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance is one of our favorite shows and is coming back on on May 27th!!! This is a dance from last season that is amazing and I love the song, Gravity by Sara Bareilles. The dance is supposed to be interpreting addiction. Although I have never experienced addiction this give me a glimpse to what it is like. What a powerful piece of art!

And so it begins...

On Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 at 1:40pm Melanie Crandall and Nick Dueck were sealed for time and all eternity! We had a beautiful ceremony in the Salt Lake Temple with our family and friends. What a great it experience it was to be sealed forever to each other with those we love right beside us! The weather man forecasted rain and thunderstorms but luckily the weather man was wrong this time. It was a beautiful day with a blue sky and gorgeous colorful flowers in bloom. We took pictures for a couple hours during which my mom brought us some delicious See's candy to hold us over. She is the best! We then had a beautiful dinner in the Joseph Smith Memorial building. The food was delicious which was good because I was starving! It was so much fun to visit with family and friends. Thanks for coming and sorry if we didn't get to talk to you! At the end I threw the bouquet. Everyone told me to not throw it too high because it would hit the ceiling, but unfortunately I still threw it too high. Mae (Nick's niece and now mine!) was the closest and just picked it up after it hit the ceiling and came back down on my dress. She was so happy! Sorry to all the other girls. I should have practiced throwing backwards. haha.

For our honeymoon we went to California to go to Disneyland! It was so nice to just be with Nick and not have to worry about wedding plans, school, or work. We tried to go to the beach but the water was freezing! I guess we'll just have to go again! Disneyland was so much fun! My favorite ride was Space Mountain and Nick's was Splash Mountain. It wasn't crowded at all so the longest we ever had to wait in line was 20 min! We went out to eat a lot but we fortunately had a lot of gift cards to restaurants so thank you! We went to a few really good local places. One was called Ruby's which was out on the dock of Huntington Beach. That was really cool because you look out and all you see is the ocean! We also went to a little burger and ice cream place recommended by Heidi's boyfriend Dustin who is on a mission there. He said it was the best burger in town and it was!

Our honeymoon was so much fun but our normal life together is even better! When we got back from our honeymoon we stayed at our friends' home for one night but the new people decided to move in early so Alison (Nick's sister) was so kind to let us spend the night. The next day we helped Meri and Robbie move out so we could move in. We are living in their apartment for the summer while they live in CA doing an internship with Google. It is a great apartment! We are so lucky to live there! It has been fun to put our things up and have our own place. We didn't have a bed for a couple of days and were sleeping on a futon which actually wasn't that bad, but I definitely recommend getting a bed from Costco.
