Weekend in Washington

Nick and I spent this last weekend up in Washington visiting Nick's side of the family! Our adventure started out on the smallest plane I have ever been on. It was probably 12 rows with 2 seats on one side and 1 seat on the other. We had a connecting flight and somehow our luggage didn't connect with us. The second flight was pretty bumpy but I thought it was fun. The girl across from us didn't. She threw up. The funny thing though is that when I first got on the plan I thought "I bet no one ever uses these bags to throw up in anymore." I was wrong.

Our first night we hung out at home with mom and dad, grandma Porter, and Heidi. Dad made a delicious salmon dinner. Probably the best I have ever had! He smoked the salmon and made some amazing sauce for it. It melted in our mouths!

Saturday we went on a hike with the singles branch up to Twin Falls (not Idaho). It is way beautiful! There are mountains and trees and waterfalls! God really did make this earth beautiful! Toward the end of the hike Nick lost the sole of his shoe! It just came right off! It was pretty funny though.

When we got back from the hike our luggage was waiting for us! We were very grateful our stuff wasn’t lost or stolen. That night we went to a BBQ that the singles branch had and then went to Kevin and Nancy’s to hang out. Their 3 boys and girl entertained us for a bit and then we had family prayer and scripture study with them. Their kids are so cute, sweet, smart, and funny! They even each shared their testimony with all of us.

Sunday we went to the singles ward for church and Dad was put in a Branch President. After church Nancy, Kevin, and the kids came over for dinner. Dad made Carne Asada! Soooo good! We had a fun time talking and laughing. We also had a fire and roasted marshmallows for smores! The kids loved them! While roasting our marshmallows we sat around the fire and told funny childhood stories to the kids. What a great evening!

Monday we chilled for a bit and then went out to eat with Dad and Heidi. Mom had to work at her day care. We then went to the airport and headed back home. Thanks for a great weekend!

I don't know why it is underlining my words. I can't get it off. :(

Jeans

Well i just feel like I need to put a post that isn't so disturbing as the spider one.

So the other week. Actually on Nick's birthday, he was out working for the census and as he was stepping up into his car.....his pants totally ripped. He has had them for probably 5 months now, but i have had some jeans for 4 years and i have never had a whole at all. These jeans were from American Eagle. I thought they were supposed to have good jeans. And how do they split where his did. Just take a look:

O. My. Gosh!!!!

I'm so scared and paranoid right now! And my husband isn't home to help me! I went in our room to get my shoes to go workout and on Nick's nightstand I found this:

O my gosh! Just looking at it makes me feel like I have bugs all over me! What kind is it anyway? It looks like a spider! Ahhhh!!! I think I'm going to make a run to the store today and get some bug spray! I can't live like this! I don't like picking them up. Even with a paper towel. But what if i leave it and it has babies in that big part of it and they come out and get everywhere!?!?! HELP ME!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! So I just got a bunch of paper towels and tried to push it into a cup but then it started to MOVE!!!! I screamed! and then just put the glass over it. I HATE BUGS! Why did God create them?

Yeah. It is definitely alive!!!!!
