Halfway!!!

I'm 20 weeks!  And I finally have a little baby bump!  At the end of my 18th week I started to pop out a bit to the point of where buttoning my pants was pretty uncomfortable and now impossible.  I manager to still wear my normal pants by looping a hair elastic through the button hole and around the button.  No one can see it because my shirts are long enough to cover it.  Nick was pretty impressed with this creativity but I must give the credit to pinterest. haha!

(Sorry the picture isn't great.  We have a tiny apartment that doesn't have good lighting.)

The last two nights have not been good. I have woken up multiple times to go to the bathroom and at around 3 I can't fall back asleep because my stomach is empty and growling.  I try to shake it off because I just want to sleep but I end up getting up eventually and making a piece of toast or a bowl of cereal.  I then go back to the bed but still can't fall asleep because I start thinking about random things. I also feel like the baby is doing most of her growing at night and I can feel the expanding pressure inside.  Maybe my body is getting me ready for the sleepless nights ahead.

My sweet tooth is back unfortunately.   I made delicious peanut butter blossom cookies and ate about 3 a day.  Baby and I love them!  Nick does too but he has more self-control.  After all the cookies were eaten I made cream puffs, ginger snaps, and I'm thinking of making German chocolate brownies next!

Tuesday I had my 20 week ultra sound.  We were able to see so much detail: her heart (all 4 chambers), arteries, kidneys, stomach, diaphragm, umbilical cord, brain, spine, nose, lips...  When we were looking at her face she had both hands up by her eyes like playing peek-a-boo (precious).  The ultra sound tech took measurements of everything and she is measuring on track for my June 9th due date.  She weighs about 13.5 ounces.  It was fun to get to look at her for longer and see that she is healthy and growing .  The tech only printed 5 pictures (evenly though she took like 20+) and they weren't my favorite ones but these will have to do:
(That dark spot in her chest is the heart and that white part coming out of her stomach is the umbilical cord.)

(This is looking between her legs at her bottom.  It's a girl! If you look hard you can see her femur bones.)

(I think this is her right foot)

Well I'm off to get some ice cream!  :)

  1. You're funny! Reading this made me want a sweet! I'm happy you got a fairly good profile shot ultrasound. We never did with Kayla - she'd never quite cooperate. We're so excited for you and Nick - parenting is the greatest blessing in this life. And you will be great ones.
